Last updated: November 7, 2026
This policy explains which personal data Majeje Africa Safaris collects on this site, why we collect it, how long we keep it and what your rights are. We collect only the data that we need to answer your request and to plan your safari.
01Who is responsible
Majeje Africa Safaris, Eastern Cape, South Africa, is responsible for your personal data (the "controller"). For a question about your data or to use one of your rights, call us or send us a message with the request form of this site.
Our phone numbers
- +1 309 857 6404 (USA)
- +1 418 817-1991 (Canada)
- +27 73 770 4121 (South Africa)
02What data we collect
We collect the data that you give us, and some technical data that your browser sends:
- Request forms: your name and email address, and, if you give them, your phone or WhatsApp number, your dates, the package, the people in your party and your message.
- Hunt builder: the animals, dates and services that you select. Your selection stays in your browser until you send it with a request.
- Technical data: your IP address, your browser type and the pages that you open. Our server needs this data to show the site and to protect it from attacks.
We take no payments on this site. Do not send us health data or other sensitive data in a message: tell your guide by phone if it is important for your trip.
03Why we use your data
We use your data only for these purposes, each with its legal basis:
- To answer your request and prepare a quote: steps before a contract, at your request (GDPR, Art. 6(1)(b)).
- To organize your safari when you book: the performance of our contract with you.
- To keep the site safe and working: our legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f)).
We do not sell your data. We make no automated decisions about you. We send you no newsletter without your consent.
04Who receives your data
Only these people and companies receive your data, and only the part that they need:
- Our guides and staff, who answer your request and organize your trip.
- Our hosting provider (Namecheap, servers in the United States), which keeps the site. The site does not keep your request in a database.
- Our email service (Resend, United States), which delivers your request to our guides, and Google (Gmail), which keeps it in the mailbox of your guide.
- Partners of your trip, only when you book: for example the taxidermist or the shipping company that you choose.
- Public authorities, only when the law requires it.
05Transfers outside your country
We work from South Africa, and our server is in the United States. If you live in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, your data goes outside your country. We protect it with the safeguards that the law gives, for example the standard contractual clauses of the European Commission.
06How long we keep your data
- A request that does not become a booking: up to 2 years after our last contact.
- The data of a booking: as long as the tax and accounting law of South Africa requires (usually 5 years).
08Your rights
You can ask us at any time to:
- give you a copy of your data;
- correct your data;
- delete your data;
- use your data less, or not at all, while we check a question;
- stop a use that is based on our legitimate interest;
- send your data to you or to another company in a common file format;
- withdraw your consent, for the future.
To use a right, contact us (see "Who is responsible"). We answer within one month. You can also complain to a data protection authority.
09Security
The site uses an encrypted connection (HTTPS). Only the people who answer your request can read it. Our server gets security updates every day.
10Children
This site is for adults. When children come with your party, tell us only what we need for the trip, for example their age.
11Changes to this policy
We can change this policy when our site or the law changes. The date at the top of the page shows the last change.
